The Sly Cooper franchise is one of the critically acclaimed one-player platform games.

Released on PlayStation 2, Sly Cooper remained there until the first three games were re-mastered for the PlayStation 3.

They are now part of the Classic Collections series.

2002 saw the launch of the new game Sucker Punch Productions, Sly Cooper and Thievius Raccoonus, a stealth platform game in which an unlucky raccoon named Sly tries to take the secret book about thief

The Fiendish Five

Together with their friends, Bentley (a green computer witch turtle) and Murray (a pink heavy-duty driving hippo), they begin to defeat Clockwerk and his evil minions.

They are called The Fiendish Five.

Fiendish Five was responsible for the pages of the precious book, The Thievius Raccoonus.

These villains are:

- Clockwerk (an ancient owl with a deep hatred for the Cooper family and their successful criminal antics)

- Sir Raleigh (a private frog)

- Muggshot (a type of assault gun forcing bulls and dogs)

- Mz.

- Panda King (a destruction specialist in the form of a panda).

While Sly, Bentley and Murray are all chased by Carmelita Fox, a police officer intends to take down Sly.

However, complications arise when they begin to develop feelings for each other.

Sly 2: Band of Thieves

Sly 2: Band of Thieves (released in 2004) follows Sly as he tries to stop The Klaww Gang from rebuilding a mechanical Clockwerk.

The Klaww gang includes:

- Constable Neyla (a tiger criminal who became a police officer, intending to become Clock-La - a union between Clockwerk and herself)

- Arpeggio (a parrot capable of building self-powered aircraft)

Contessa (a black widow spider that poisoned and brainwashed her victim)

- Dimitri (Iguana has artistic talent)

- Jean Bison (a bison with big dreams of conquering small places)

- Rajan (a tiger dealing in banned substances) and

General Clawfoot (a bat, a tickling commoner)

Honesty among lies

In Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves (2005), Sly discovers the whereabouts of her family's great vault and goes to preserve her history.

Sly recruits many of his once fearsome enemies, such as the Panda King, to get them where they need to be.

They also encountered new enemies, such as:

- General Tsao (a Chinese rooster using dark magic)

Black Spot Pete (a Macaw who likes to steal)

- Captain LeFwee (a Macaw, who believes he is extremely intelligent and is a master swordsman)

Dr. M. (a mandrill, geneticist and original member of the first Cooper gang).
