Why is there too much Midges in Scotland?
As anyone who has come to Scotland will tell you, there are too many Midges - hundreds of them.
Thousands of them - and they are everywhere in the Central Highlands!
Midges are annoying small insects like mosquitoes biting all of you and bringing you into a snoring frenzy - and the Central Highlands filled them!
So why are so much?
However, first, Scotland has about 35 types of MIDGE with different origins, however, only 5 types of midges bite people.
So while you can see a lot about, not all annoying Bloodsuckers.
Secondly, Highland Midge, Midge is often found in the largest number in Scotland, known as the biggest repetitive offender when it comes to biting people, and their number is full of raw in the Central Highlands.
And third, a brutal winter really means Midges more in the spring and summer.
In 2010 scientists believe that the highland Midge population will die a little after Scotland brutal winter (and the rest of U.K.) has just experienced.
But what they really found was due to constant freezing temperatures;
So every time there is a frozen winter (mainly about every winter in Scotland), the Midge population is set to bloom in the spring.
So you have it, that's why there are so many Midges in Scotland!
Really really!
In the Middle Ages, some Scottish lords will torture people by tying them naked to a post and make them swallowed by people in the middle.
Although this will never kill a person, it often makes them crazy after a few days.
