Truth Bumblebee Bat - The smallest bat in the world


Not only is Bumblebee Bat, (or Kitti's Hog bat because it is called the smallest bat in the world, but it is also the smallest mammal in the world.

These cute little creatures are only 29 - 33mm long and have wivestock about 170mm, and weighing a small amount of 2 grams!

Here is a collection of some of the most interesting truths about the world's smallest mammals.

The upper part of their body is usually red / brown or gray, while their lower face is pale.

They have dark wings with long tips that allow them to hover in the air.

Bumblebee bat diet includes mainly insects.

On their faces, they have a nose like pigs, small eyes and big ears.

They work most at sunset when they fly around teak trees and bamboo shooting insects.

BatbleBee Bat is found in areas in Sai Yok National Park in Kanchanaburi Prefecture of West Thailand.

They live in small colonies of about 10 - 100 high instances in limestone caves in forest areas near the river.

Very few are currently known about their breeding.

BatbleBee bat is named so, because of its similar size with a large bee.

They were discovered by Thai biologists for the first time, Kitti Thonglongya, in 1973.
