The truth about the game Jak and Daxter
Jak and Daxter are two of the most critically acclaimed gaming teams of the 21st century.
Booming in platform games in 2001, games company Naughty Dog brought us a heroic mute teenage boy and his eager, talkative companion.
Sony Computer Entertainment America and Naughty Dog are the ones who thank them for their enjoyable gaming hours.
Released on PlayStation 2, Jak and Daxter remained there until two spinoffs (Daxter and Jak and Daxter: The Final Frontier) were included in the PlayStation Portable (known as PSP).
February 2012 saw Jak and Daxter appear on PS3, on a single Blu Ray disc.
The first three games are now part of the HD Classics Collection.
Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy
Jak and Daxter begin their lives in the first game of the series, Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy.
During this adventure, fifteen-year-old Jak and his best friend Daxter sneak into the dangerous Mist Island, where they learn of a great demon.
Villains Gol and Maia Acheron plan to flood the world with Dark Eco (the world's most dangerous and unstable energy source).
As they left Misty Island, the friends were encountered by powerful creatures known as Lurker.
Jak defeats the oncoming Lurker, but in the process, he accidentally pushes Daxter into Dark Eco's barrel.
When Daxter appeared, he was no longer human, but an otter (a combination of an otter and a weasel).
Jak and Daxter set off through the Old World, where they had to tackle challenges, race and trade with others to somehow change Daxter back, and save the world from Dark Eco.
Gol and Maia were just the beginning of trouble for the two troubled.
Jak II
In Jak II, Jak and Daxter were transported into a hundreds of years future, where they entered the strange but familiar world of Haven City (the site of the original Old World).
Jak is quickly captured and tested by the evil Baron Praxis.
After being overwhelmed by Dark Eco, he was able to control his powers for a short period of time, and he became Dark Jak.
It was also the beginning of Jak's witty sentences and brooding thoughts (yes, he's speaking now).
Jak II has other dangerous villains like Kor (the leader of the rebellious and dangerous Metal Head gang), and Krew (the overweight crime boss and black market trader).
Jak 3
Jak 3 opens with Jak, Daxter and their new friend Pecker (half monkey and half parrot) exiled to Wasteland, by the new villain, Count Veger.
Jak and his friends are saved and they enter a new location of Spargus City, ruled by King Damas.
They quickly learn of astonishing new evidence about the Forerunners, and Erol, a great scientist at one time, wanted to control them.
In this game, Jak learns who he is: Mar, the founder of Haven City and the son of King Damas.
In these sequels, Jak is voiced by Mike Erwin.
Jax X
Jak & Daxter is mostly a single player game, up to the Jax X spin-off game (a racing game), which allows you to compete with other players.
These cars can be customized just like any normal car, but the added bonuses are guns, rocket launchers, acceleration, obstacle launch and an Eco boost.
On his journey, Jak learns many new abilities, such as controlling various types of Eco;
To get to other locations or complete seemingly tough challenges, racing comes in a variety of forms, from the rare Flut Flut bird (which can also slaughter enemies to death) and off-road vehicles, which can be customized
Jak uses this mainly to defeat his enemies with the help of Eco, and punches and kicks the attacks.
