The difference between retro & classic clothes

Many people don't know about the difference between classic and retro clothes, but if you want to impress your stylish friends at the next social event, why not learn the meaning of each word

Classic clothes

Vintage used to describe items made in the 1920s or more (but no later than 20 years ago this year).

Now, in 2016, anything is done in the period from 1920 to 1996 technically, although that doesn't mean everything has 'classic' attractions.

It is not limited to just clothes - the word 'classic' can be used for watches and other decorations (such as lava lights produced in the 1970s), as well as radios, cars, cabinets

Interestingly, this word is derived from France 'Vendage', which means 'grapes are selected during the season'.

Retro clothes.

Unlike classic clothes, retro clothes do not mention a specific period of time in which they are created.

Retro clothes provide a way for classic styles and models to return to fashion of today.

'Retro' is most commonly used when it comes to items that have been taken to imitate those things from about 20 years ago.

Like the word 'classic', 'retro' not only applies to clothes.

The word 'antique' is another type used to replace each other with 'vintage' and 'retro', but it also has a meaning of it.

Now you know the difference between these words, you will never confuse retro clothes for classic again!
