National Mario Day |

It's me, Mario!

Mario Day was originally meant to be a holiday for anyone named Mario, but Nintendo's favorite plumber seems to be in the spotlight on this day.

Before he was Mario

It is not difficult to understand why.

In honor of Mario Day and the plumber, let's ponder Super Mario's history.

Mario was created by game designer Shigeru Miyamoto.

Shigeru was originally a gaming artist for the Nintendo Company until the company's president, Hiroshi Yamauchi, asked him to design a new game.

The Nintendo company struggled to enter the Video Games market and had tried to make games before, but all its attempts to popularize and sell the game have been markedly unsuccessful.

After Shigeru designed a game for Nintendo's Cabinets, the company hired Ikegami Tsushinki to program it.

After the game was designed and programmed, it was released as Donkey Kong in 1981.

In Donkey Kong, Mario made his first appearance as the main character, Jumpman.

It was the first game of the genre at the time, featuring a background storyline and a playable character able to move from side to side climbing and jumping.

Donkey Kong is selling well and Miyamoto continues to design more games with his character Jumpman.

Jumpman's name eventually changed when the owner of Nintendo Warehouse Arrives came to claim the rent overdue and, fortunately, the owner's name was Mario.

The staff later gave the joking nickname for Miyamoto's character Mario, after the owner of the warehouse.

After a long time calling Jumpman, Mario, it finally became the character's real name.

Two years later in 1983, the first Mario Bros game was released with the participation of Mario and brother Luigi.

Other sequels like Super Mario Bros.

In addition to the famous Super Mario, there are other notable Mario in the world.

For example, Mario Lopez, a movie actor who played in Sitcom America, George Lopez and even played the role of A.C.

Even the Mafia has had a part of Mario's.

Mario Day is a great opportunity to celebrate everything Mario.

Whether you're watching George Lopez, watching some Gangster movies, eating mushrooms over your dinner or just relaxing playing some old school Nintendo's, there are plenty of ways to make March 10 a great day.
