Fun facts about Parkour & Freelance

You may have seen people jumping from wall to wall, scrambling for buildings, jumping off poles and throwing themselves everywhere.

Well, if you read this article, you will know more about why they do it and what it really is!

Le parkour.

L’art du deplacement, Le parkour, Parkour, movement art and Freelance are some of the names they are known for, they are always changing.

Extremely popular in the 1980s in France, Yamakasi (a group of French practitioners) brought parkour to the forefront in the public eye, although the approach was far behind.

We went back many years to meet the Western fitness educator, George Herbert (1875-1957), who could see that the body needed fine tuning and was able to move quickly and flexibly.

The goal and method of the sport is movement.

When the body interacts with its environment, it needs to be refined and movements should not be hindered by anything that interferes with it.

You can watch a great video of free runners below, this video is definitely worth watching!

A person who practices parkour is called a follower.

Technically, a participant parkour (it's a few P's, right?) Is a follower, which literally means "tracing" or "following a path".

The only device or machine that should be used when operating freely is the body.

This sport is aimed at improving body strength and flexibility and coordination.

Balance exercises and spatial awareness exercises are the most common.

Parkour is trendy.

Although not an extreme sport, it is extremely popular with young people (in my youth, the kids loved skateboarding and rollerblading - neither was I able to do it).

Like any sport, although it can cause accidents, the most common fracture is a fracture.

The sport is extremely popular with men but the parkour community is open to female followers.

How to become a follower.

Today, ADAPT (Art du Deplacement And Parkour Teaching) is a degree program that means everyone is responsible for the health and well-being of others.

Degree aims to support and help others in their body and mind better.

To achieve this certification, you must participate in a training course, which includes assessment, physical, verbal and written testing and in-person training workshop.

Becoming a coach is not easy, as practicing the wrong or wrong technique can lead to injury, even life-threatening.
