It is time in the year again, where Donut Country (also spelling is donut) held from Wide!

Every year on the first Friday in June, millions of people flocked to the nearest store, bakery or cafe to clog some of their favorite donuts.

Many donut facilities across the United States provide a free donut with each purchase!

So how does Homer Simpson favorite holiday originate?

All began to return on June 7, 1938, when Morgan Pett, a young military doctor, stopped at a bakery and picked up 8 dozen donuts.

When he came to the military base, where he was traveling, he had to work with injured soldiers.

Every soldier he helps, he will give one of his donuts to them.

One of the men that Morgan helped Lieutenant General Samuel Geary, who was very pleased with the work he was doing, he started helping to raise funds to help Morgan continue unique and friendly ways to help

In the following years, the Salvation army participated in fundraising efforts and help in the first World War in France awarded donuts to soldiers.

This practice continues to participate in the second World War, where the Red Cross volunteers will distribute donuts to the soldiers.
