7 facts about Mace Windu |
Mace Windu is one of the worst-looking roles Jedis ever landed in Star Wars, as well as being played by one of the worst actors who had a crush on the silver screen.
So without further ado, here are some interesting facts about both the character and the actor who bought him in life.
Mace Windu is one of the greatest and most powerful Jedis ever to live.
Born on the planet Haruun Kal, Mace was given to the Jedi Order at the age of six months, as both his father and mother died in the planet's forest.
Back in Crouscant, Mace was named by Order and trained by Grand Master Yoda, like all children.
The Mace Windu has many abilities related to the Force that no other Jedis possesses.
He is considered to be capable of smashing bulletproof glasses with his mind, he can defeat a robot to destroy with his fist and he even crushes his chest with force.
But Mace discovered her unique and powerful ability as a child.
This is the ability to see broken spots in The Force.
These breakpoints allow him to glimpse the future and the events surrounding him and his future foes.
One thing Mace glimpsed at these fragments was a purple light sword that he would one day use.
Plagued by the distant visions of this unique light sword, Mace, now 14, was sent alone to the world of Hurikane by the Jedi Order to collect the materials needed to craft the blade.
It is here that Mace has been given a special Violet crystal by the natives of the planet, allowing him to create the sword of light he has seen in his vision.
Naturally gifted in The Force, Mace overcame challenges as a child.
At the remarkable age of 28, Mace becomes a senior member of the Jedi Council, and the hilt is adorned with electrum, a rare and precious metal.
Mace quickly became the Master of The Order and leader of the Jedi Council, and was second only to the Jedi Order after Master Yoda.
However, Mace gave control of the Jedi Council to Yoda after the Battle of Geonosis, where he led more than 200 Jedis into battle and destroyed the infamous bounty hunter Jango Fett.
Mace has created a new variant of lightsaber combat that was previously only used by Sith.
Form VII has two variations, Juyo and Vaapad.
In its own words “Vaapad is not just a fighting style.
Vaapad asks its users to enjoy their fight and enjoy the satisfaction of their victory.
Often frowned upon by many Jedi, Vaapad is warned to lead users dangerously close to the dark side.
Okay, that's enough about the character, what about the actor who bought him in life - the great Samuel L. Jackson.
Mace Windu's purple light sword is available upon request.
In the first issue of George Lucas in the prequel series, Mace used only a regular lightsaber.
After filming Battle of Geonosis, Samuel L. Jackson re-watched the scene and had difficulty choosing himself from hundreds of other Jedis.
Disappointed, he approached George Lucas.
"Do you think maybe I can get a purple lamp sword?"
When Jackson finally turns around, Lucas has his purple sword sword.
Jackson was pleased: "There are about 300 lights, and I like, Here I am, right there!"
Jackson also asked for BMF's initials (Bad Mother Fu ** er) to be abbreviated on his hilt, but this request Lucas declined.
Samuel Jackson didn't want Mace to "die like some punk".
Jackson hit a record in an interview when he said that he didn't want Mace Windu to die "like a punk game".
