7 billion: How do we get so big?


In 1804, the global population reached one billion people.

Due to better medicine and living conditions, and higher life expectancy for children, this is dramatically increasing the world's population.

As higher living standards and better health care are coming to many parts of the world, birth rates - and population growth - start to slow down.

Although the population will continue to increase in the near future.

Fortunately, we are still not running out of space, although resources are of higher concern.
