5 facts about cute baby Yoda
If you've seen The Mandalorian on Disney + or if you only have Internet access, you've certainly seen the adorable little green creature exploding amidst the Star Wars fanatic
Baby Yoda has been a pivotal part of The Mandalorian (of which there were three volumes released at the time of writing) and will appear to be an important part of the series as it continues.
While rumors online are rife, with some saying he's Emperor Palpatine and others saying he's Yoda and Yaddle's darling child, we really know very little about Baby Yoda.
But what exactly do we know about Baby Yoda?
He's NOT Yoda.
Despite being nicknamed Baby Yoda, those who haven't seen The Mandalorian (or if you're not a fan of Star Wars) may not know that he really isn't the baby version of
Mandalorian was placed during a vacuum between the Vi: returned to Jedi and Vii: The Force Awakens, and because any Star Wars fans could tell you that the Yoda was dead when he returned.
Don't forget his iconic quote: "When you reach 900, look as good as you are."
He's the same species as Yoda.
Not much is known about Yoda's species - damn, we don't even know what his species were called or where they came from, hence this little green friend was nicknamed
But one thing we do know for certain is that he is definitely the same species as the Grandmaster.
Yoda is 50 years old this year.
As you will recall from Return, Yoda told us that he was 900 years old before he died.
There are a few (and I mean a few) extremely long-lived species in the Star Wars universe, including Maz Kanata from the next epoch trilogy, who is over 1,000 years old in The Force Awakens
Baby Yoda's age has been given to us, and the official Mandalorian, in the first episode when The Client, played brilliantly by Werner Herzog, tells Pedro Pascal Mandalorian his intended bounty is 50 years old.
Now, here's a very interesting little piece of information.
Well, before Disney gets rights to Star Wars, an expansion universe full of comics, novels and programs that exist, and in it is a comic about Yoda to join the Jedi command.
Although his age was involved in unknown order, it was known that he achieved Jedi Master's ranking in 96 years old.
So if Baby Yoda is 50 years old and still a toddler, then we can rest assured that his breed's aging cycle has been changed according to the new Disney rules.
Or we'll see Baby Yoda growing up lightning fast ...
He is the third of his species to exist in the standard of Star Wars.
When Star Wars became part of the Disney group in 2012, Disney wiped out media with canon, opting to be their own canon instead of using the existing canon.
Baby Yoda is the first addition of one of his species in a Disney rule.
However, we must remember that the movies, even though they were created before Disney acquired them, are still classified as classics.
Thus, this made the third Yoda baby among his species seen in Disney Canon despite their first addition to Canon.
The other two are Yoda and Jedi Master Yaddle.
Yaddle is a woman of the Yoda race, who sat on the Jedi High Council for a hundred years before dying off screen between Episodes I and II.
She can be seen in the board scenes in Episode I: The Phantom Menace, which means we have three species of Yoda in Disney rules.
While Yaddle has yet to be explored in the Disney classics, we fans hope that her story will be finalized soon, possibly unraveling some of her species and letting us understand more.
Baby Yoda is incredibly powerful with The Force.
Okay, so now I'm going to talk about the midichloro and if you want to complain to me that they don't exist and they are prequel trash then I won't give you a Master rank.
Yes, that's outrageous, yes, that's not fair, but George Lucas said in a 1977 interview “some creatures are born with a higher sense of the Force […] they have
So if you can't accept that George Lucas thinks about Midichlorians before he thinks of Darth Vader as Luke's father, you can only close the other and sit a young seat.
The Midichlorians are an essential part of the myth of Star Wars, they are the reason the Force "surrounds us and penetrates us;
When Qui Gon asked an amount of Midichlorian about Anakin's blood of Anakin in Menace Phantom, a young Obi Wan exclaimed "Reading is out of the rankings - More than 20,000! Even Master Yoda also does not have high Midichlorian numbers!"
So we know that Yoda himself (and presumably Yaddle) has a high midichlorian count, but now that we see adorable little Baby Yoda using The Force in The Mandalorian, it really has an impact.
One thing is for sure - if Baby Yoda was as strong as an untrained infant, then he definitely has a solid future ahead of him as a Force user.
So you've heard it here first, 5 top certified things we know about the Yoda baby.
Here's hoping we'll get some more answers as The Mandalorian continues its boom.
